I’m Elon Green, author of Last Call, the basis for an HBO documentary series.

I’ve written for the New York Times Magazine, The Awl, and New York, and have no beat beyond my own interests. I’ve chronicled the life of Peter Beard, the real-life Bobby McGee, the history of queer adoption, a play by Toni Morrison; interviewed Yaphet Kotto, Rita Moreno, Paul Simon and some of our greatest journalists; and more or less unearthed the the Doodler Murders and the bombing of LaGuardia Airport. I’ve also written reviews, contributed to an art book, and am anthologized in Unspeakable Acts, Stories Can Save Us, and The Awl: The Book.
